Hydro-Abrasive Waterjet Cutting

Precision Waterjet Cutting Services

Waterjet cutting is one of the most precise and versatile cutting methods available, allowing materials to be processed without heat distortion or structural change.

At PRV Engineering, we use advanced hydro-abrasive technology, including our Idroline S 1730 system, to deliver high-accuracy cutting for complex components, specialist materials and high-spec engineering applications.

Waterjet Cutting System

Waterjet Cutting System

The Idroline S 1730 hydro-abrasive waterjet cutting system is designed to deliver consistent, high-performance cutting across a wide range of materials.

Using a very high-pressure jet of water, or a mixture of water and abrasive, the system enables accurate cutting, shaping and profiling without introducing heat into the material.

This makes it the preferred method for applications where traditional cutting processes such as laser or plasma may cause distortion or compromise material properties.

Why Use Waterjet Cutting?

Waterjet cutting is particularly effective when working with:

  • Heat-sensitive materials
  • Thick or hardened metals
  • Complex profiles and intricate geometries
  • Components requiring high edge quality

Because there is no heat-affected zone, the structural integrity of the material is maintained throughout the process.

Materials and Applications

Waterjet cutting is used across a wide range of industries, including defence, aerospace, mining and industrial engineering.

We regularly work with:

  • Hardened steels and armour plate
  • Aluminium and non-ferrous metals
  • Titanium and specialist alloys
  • Copper and conductive materials
  • Composites, plastics and rubber

Typical applications include precision components, fabricated parts and development work where accuracy and material performance are critical.

Integrated Engineering Capability

Our waterjet cutting service is fully integrated with our wider in-house capabilities.

Components can move directly from cutting into CNC machining, fabrication or finishing processes, reducing lead times and improving overall quality control.

This approach is particularly valuable for high-spec industries such as defence engineering, where precision and reliability are essential.
